Felco secateurs really DO last a lifetime. They can be sent to Felco for servicing time after time, and spares are available
Ashford Allotment Society is absolutely thrilled to be able to offer this superb prize for the best fruit exhibit at the 2014 show. Perfect for pruning fruit bushes, with a narrow precision shear, they also have a swivelling handle which means you never get blisters! These are the professionals' choice and quite possibly the finest secateurs you can buy. They will last you a lifetime and Felco's fantastic after-sales service means you can have any part replaced and a full revamp simply by posting them off to Felco and paying a very modest charge. I've done this several times and they come back looking like new!

BULLDOG TOOLS
Smaller (border) spade and fork in British forged carbon steel.
Everyone buys a gurt big spade and fork when they first take on an allotment, but you need the smaller size too for accurate work. If you are less than huge and husky in build, or are unused to heavy physical labour, a border spade and fork will enable you to build up your muscles without danger of a strained back. We strongly recommend every allotmenteer should have  a border spade and fork in their toolkit, so we're absolutely delighted that Bulldog Tools have generously supplied these top-quality British-made tools as prizes for the show.
They will be allocated for 2 separate classes, not presented as a pair.
RRP OF BULLDOG BORDER SPADE - £40
RRP OF BULLDOG BORDER FORK - £40

We are immensely proud to be able to have, as a prize, the Wolf Soil Miller - the perfect tool for producing a fine tilth in even the most difficult soils. Like some of our most experienced allotmenteers, I have used this tool for years and can personally vouch for its ease of use, superb results and durability. The Soil Miller is part of the multi-change range and will be given complete with the handle used with it.
The Soil Miller can be used to break up soil after forking over, or as a high-peformance hoe to remove weeds and break up the top crust of soil between rows of growing plants. The easy rolling action means there is no strain on the joints and it is suitable for use by gardeners of all ages.

The multi-change system consists of a solid wood click-lock handle with a comfortable grip and hanging point for easy storage. To this you can, in a second, fit any one of a whole range of tool-heads. This is absolutely ideal for the allotment: one safe handle, with nothing spiky on the end, slips into your car. All the heads you need go compactly into a box or bag in the boot. You could even manage then on a bicycle or the bus! Handles come in two lengths, so taller gardeners do not need to stoop (our prize comes complete with the standard length handle).
