Orion Way Allotments

Go to the council's map and aerial photo

Access

Turn into Orion Way,  a cul-de-sac, from Hunter Avenue, Willesborough - opposite the playing field. At the end of the road take the right hand fside at the T-junction. The entrance to the allotments is at the end of this branch of Orion Way, next to some new houses. There is parking nearby.

Facilities

There is space to park cars securely and conveniently inside the gate, on grass. There are three water points. A noticeboard is by the entrance gate.

Soil and Situation

Orion Way is on good, free-draining loamy soil ("lovely soil, the water just runs through it" in the words of allotment rep Mr Roy Taylor). The site is open with a couple of small trees and a well-trimmed hedge down the northwest boundary; it is entirely surrounded by other properties. Wide grassy paths make this an attractive and desirable site to work in. Despite the railway being close by, this is one of the quieter sites in Ashford.
Below is the plan of plots from the Council.  Every effort will be made to keep it up to date but minor changes may occur over time. The entrance to the site is at the bootom left by the padlock symbol on this plan.
Use the + and - buttons at the bottom right of the image to blow up or shrink the plan.
