Henwood allotments (thanks to Christine for the gorgeous photo)
Access
Henwood allotments are accessed by turning into Gordon Close from Hythe Road. Follow the winding road until you see a big sign saying Colefax Place, Private Road. Take the righthand fork and follow round; the allotment entrance is on the right, with some parking. There is a also a footpath and a pedestrian gate from the first sharp bend. Due to the soft nature of the ground it is essential that vehicles are not taken onto the main path.

Soil and situation
Henwood is a lively and vibrant site with a good community. Most of the plots are open and sunny, though along one boundary an overgrown hedge belonging to the KCC casts some irritating shade. The soil is heavy London Clay and can lie very wet after rainy spells. Open, grassy paths divide up this attractive site.
Below is the plan of plots from the Council. Every effort will be made to keep it up to date but minor changes may occur over time. The main vehicle access is shown by the padlock symbol at the top of the plan: the gate at the bottom is the one coming in from the footpath.
